Merry (Belated) Christmas + OOTD!

So I haven't been posting lately because I've been off school and I don't have a good area for pictures at home :( but alas, after the beautiful snow had fallen I finally found a spot to take a picture of my outfit! Ugly Christmas Sweater Day!

Ah, Christmas sweaters. So Thursday was ugly Christmas sweater day but I figured it'd make more sense to wear mine Friday. I actually wore a sweatshirt which was actually worn by my mom. And made by my mom. I wore my Under Armour leggings underneath and my Zigi Soho loafers!

Hey guys! It's kiiiinda been a while since I've posted anything, been a busy week. Last minute shopping getting done.. Teenage emotions.. Woohoo! Anyway, here's my outfit from about a week ago. I'm wearing a shirt that was in my previous post about thrifting. I styled it with my fake glasses, a pair of my semi-high waisted jeans and my lovely six inch wedges! You'll also see that my Fashion Design teacher accessorized my outfit with "Ho" wrapping paper. She said it was fitting. And how could I forget.. My mustache. I brought in temporary mustache FINGER tattoos. Mine kept coming off so I put it on my face! Details; Thrifted blouse, Forever21 jeans, Forever21 wedges.

Salvo Trip!

Hey, guys! So I recently went to the closest Salvation Army in search of, well to be honest, anything! I absolutely love thrifting, so when I get the chance, I jump on it. The first three pictures are from my latest trip. I found a great wool-blend sweater, Gap denim vest, and a deep emerald velvet blouse. I cannot wait to wear the blouse! I picked out all the other things in my closet that I've thrifted The only thing I don't have a picture of at this time is the faux fur coat I bought at a church sale for TWO DOLLARS (Yes, $2.00!) I'm currently turning it into a fitted vest. You'll soon realize that I without a doubt am in love with all things fur and faux fur! Yes, I am fully aware that by saying I love fur, I am putting myself at risk for being flour-bombed on the red carpet and being called a fur hag. (Hehehe Kim K reference) Anyway! I'll post an entry when the vest is finished! The other two pictures are from a previous trip. The suede vest is actually Lauren by Ralph Lauren. I almost peed myself when I came across it in Salvo. I've confirmed it's authentic and real, also. The plaid cape is a name I don't quite recognize. But that's the fun of thrifting, the name doesn't really matter, everything's cheap! And everything has that vintage feel that I absolutely adore.

Helloooooo, world! I would to start out by saying I haven't dressed up in a while! And I was representing Fashion Design and Retail Management at this little Boces info day, so I dressed up! Feels goooood to wear my beautiful wedges. I love them, they are my babies. <3 My entire outfit today is from Forever21, including my earrings! So obviously I won't list where each garment is from.. I swear I will actually try to do another post tonight. Either one about my recent salvo trip or me ranting about fashion do's & don't's. So let me know what you'd rather have!

Good evening, loves! Haven't posted an OOTD in a few days because my last couple outfits you've seen before. But today I wore one of my sweaters I got on a salvo trip this weekend! I'll post the rest of what I got maybe tonight or tomorrow. I'm not 100% in love with this sweater, I don't feel it fits me quite right. I loooove oversized sweaters, or anything oversized. I kinda have this thing where I absolutely adore anything that just hangs on my body to be quite honest. I know that sounds odd, but being as skinny as I am, I'm very used to hearing YOU'RE TOO SKINNY OH MY GOD. So I disguise my boney body. And it's super comfy and still looks FRE$HHHH AF. Mmmhmmmm ;) Sorry guys, no ADHD pill again today :/ ANYWAY, back to ya know, fashion.. So I styled this sweater in a classic "me" fashion, with my under amour leggings, scarf and boots. And accessorized it with some sweet hipster glasses. I get called a hipster a lot, which I'm fine with, although I prefer indie. Hipster is too mainstream for me. I just realized I'm using commas a lot. Like, a lot. So yep, here's my super awesome indie outfit! ENJOI

Dresses & Scarves.

Hello, doll faces. This past week I've been working on two dresses and a scarf for my collection. The one dress, modeled by Claire, is sort of my "tribute" to Chanel. I refuse to describe the dress at this time, due to the fact that I've already had people try to copy my ideas. Those closest to me know what the dress will look like but again, I don't want to post pictures of the sketch or describe it. Another dress I'm working on, I feel comfortable describing because you'd never guess what the fabric is. This dress will be modeled by Tess, it's a very simple, straight fit, sheath dress. She'll also be wearing a circle scarf with the dress. The color of the scarf is what ties my entire collection together. It's not quite oxblood but its the closest I could get. I love this color. But I'm starting to ramble, so I'll leave you with this picture of the scarf!

Good morning, dolls! This is yesterday's outfit, I know it's a little late. By the time I got home last night I just wanted to shower and go to bed. So yesterday's outfit was a little dressier, I just had that undeniable craving to wear my lovely wedges. I was also sporting a deep berry lip yesterday. I need a better lip stain, this one just fades so quickly. Details: Danielle's circle scarf, Charlotte Russe button down, Forever21 skinnies, Forever21 wedges!

Birthday Post!

Hello lovelies! So this post is obvi a couple days late.. I've had a busy weekend! Friday was my 17th birthday, Saturday I had SAT's bright and early (yes, the morning RIGHT after my birthday) then shopped with my momma, then went to Sparkle with my parents and my Lovey Dovey, Amanda! For those of you that don't know, Sparkle is a winter/Christmas event where they block off the street and have vendors, reindeer, Santa, dancers, caroling, and my favorite two.. Shopping and food! Back to Friday though! I had a great day at school, all my friends made it such a good time! My class at Boces sang to me, we had cupcakes, the Boces bus sang to me, then I came back to high school and spent the day with good friends :) My momma made me pretty cupcakes, I totally wanted black frosting and white sprinkles (I mean, how Chanel would that be?!) but the whole black frosting thing just didn't really work out :p so this is what we came up with! For presents, I got not one, but TWO limited edition Tim Gunn Barbies :D Then a new bedspread which I've been dying over for months, a book about college, and last but not least, Danielle got me Breakfast At Tiffany's!! I have wanted the movie for years! Ugh I just love Holly Golightly.. Then we went to dinner at Friendly's, I was craving those loaded waffle fries.. Then I had a lovely night with Timothy :) This is just a rough post to get the picture and what happened out there, I'll make it better later and let ya guys know! Gotta get ready to go to church with Amanda!

Hellooooo, good people of the Internet! So sorry I haven't been posting, I've been pretty much dying I'm so sick. Yes, still >:( Anyway! I didn't post an ootd yesterday because I went home sick and immediately went to bed. I wore a super comfy outfit today and I'll admit it, I was actually on the verge of wearing my Uggs. To school. Like, in public. That's a big deal! I do not wear mine outside the house.. However I decided to wear my tall boots instead. Wedding!

Hello loves! Just thought I'd fill everyone in on yesterday. I am so happy for my brother and new sister-in-law!! I really couldn't be happier for them. Danielle looked absolutely beautiful last night. I mean, drop dead gorgeous. I don't have any good pictures, I already have a crappy camera on my iPod and the lighting wasn't the best. However, I have one picture of them at the restaurant. Danielle wore a beautiful white knee length dress with lace detail and a half peplum accessorized with a silver braided belt, a beautiful pair of earrings and of course her wedding ring! :) My brother, Jason, wore his dress blues (he's in the Air Force). It's so weird to see my brother with a ring on his finger! Those long skinny fingers... He really should've played piano with those fingers! (Mwuahahahahah, inside joke) I'll have the better pictures sometime within the next week, until then, it's my pleasure to announce to blog world Mr. And Mrs. Riegal! :)

Big Day!!

Hey guys! I haven't been posting as much as I had planned because I have deathly sick these last few days. I think I've slept a total of 10-15 hours in the past day. Being bed-ridden sucks. I've been getting by with the help of Netflix though, Breakfast At Tiffany's and Sons of Anarchy (weird combo, I know). I have several posts going up today and tomorrow. I'd like to let all of you know that my brother, Jason, who's in the Air Force, and his fiancé, Danielle, are getting married today!!! It's a super small wedding, I'll post some pictures later. My brother came home Tuesday and surprised me so much that I screamed! Anyway, just filling you guys in on everything. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Meet Brooke!

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I wanted to feature another friend on my blog, Brooke! Just like Claire, this girl finds so many cute things at Salvo. I mean like sweaters on sweaters on sweaters. The first picture is her most recent trip, how cute are these sweaters/shirts?! Another thing, Brooke has the cutest scarves! Both Brooke and Claire are also two of my models that will be walking for me. Another thing about Brooke, she's in the Cosmetology program at Boces so this girl knows hair. Just look at some things she's done! She's not only modeling for me but she's also going to be doing hair and makeup for all my models this year! I'm sure I'll be posting future pictures of these two and others, I am absolutely in love with their style!

Meet Claire!

I wanted to write a quick post about my darling friend, Claire! This girl finds the CUTEST pieces at salvo or other thrift shops. I love her hair, too! She got gorgeous ombré color back in the spring and I die over it every time I see it! Anyway, just wanted you guys to meet the darling girl! Ugh. So nice sleeping in... Ran around with mom today getting some things for a secret project... ;) I cannot wait to tell you all what happened yesterday!! I'll just tell you I screamed when I got home from school. Anyway, I went to Party Time, Michael's and Hobby Lobby today for a select few things. I'll post them in a couple days. I forgot to snap a picture at home and "just happened" to walk by the mirrors so I snapped a quick picture of my outfit! Happy Friday everyone!! So happy we're done with school for this week. Once again my class was outside on the back side of campus doing ABL.. chilly chilly. Okay I'd just like to say I understand fashion faux pas happen everywhere at every high school. However, I fear my school is the worst culprit. Girls thinking nylons are legitimate leggings, girls who SHOULD be wearing nylons, shoes that should've never been made (and are probably fake) let alone shoes that should've never been bought.. Girls on yoga pant overload, guys whose mothers still dress them. Speaking of yoga pants, camels do not attend my school. Why am I seeing their toes. Why. And another thing, you think you're being smart by wearing a thong under those leggings or.. Jeggings *shudder* but the reality is YOU CAN STILL SEE IT. Ugh. Am I honestly the only one who inspects every angle of my outfit!? I so desperately wish my classmates knew they could come to me about their fashion dilemmas. I am not trying to say I'm perfect and compared to the gorgeous and glamorous moi, everyone else is merely the dirt beneath my six inch wedges.. I do apologize if that's how I come off. (*Side note; I act extremely self obsessed when having a good day or really just any given moment. I really am probably the most self conscious person you'll ever meet, I just hide it well. Please excuse this, it's all in good fun and meant to make you laugh.) but in all seriousness, my high school is like Christina Aguilara when it comes to fashion. Sometimes it comes really close to hitting a trend on the head but there's just that one tiiiiiny (or huge) detail that just throws it into the garbage. Alright writing this post while slightly angry, very hungry and motion sick while on the smelly bus is not a good idea. It's a long post anyway. Thank you for letting me complain. Dying..

So I don't usually check in on how many views I have but I decided to tonight. I checked about 15 minutes ago and had 319.. Checked again just now with 326 in the U.S. and 3 in Germany... Germany! WERKIN'

This week I haven't had a lot of time for patterns, my class has been working on resumes, letters and portfolios the past week. Anyway, I traced off my slopers today for the fur dress Tess is modeling for me. Spliced the bodice and skirt together, adjusted them according to my model's measurements, threw some seam allowance on them, then cut 'em out!

Rambling!

So I realized I could type my post anywhere, I just have to wait to post it until I get home! So right now I'm sitting on the bus to Boces, freezing my butt off. Listening to Mumford, drinking my coffee, sitting in the seat Tj and I always shared last year. :) Anyway, this post is mainly about what I've been craving lately, fashion-wise, that is. So number one on my list is def a pair of Jeffery Campbell's.. They're just so beautiful.. Asking for a pair for my birthday! Number two I'd have to say is anything fur. I'm currently working on taking this fur coat I (okay, my mom) bought, and turning it into a gorgeous vest. And last, anything oxblood. THE color for fall this year. Not burgundy, not maroon, not wine, oxblood. I am so in love with it. It's the primary color in my senior collection. Sooo hard to find, but worth it. Gotta run to class now though! Chilly day on campus once again! Bundled up with a chunky sweater from Forever21, circle scarf from American Apparel, skinnies from Hollister, loafers from Zigi Soho and topped everything off with a headband from Forever21! Hope everyone had a lovely Thursday! :)

So I'm just gonna start out with telling you guys that you'll notice I wear this oversized black and white flannel. A lot. Like, every week. It's my boyfriend's and it is the single most comfortable garment that should be in his closet but is in mine. Anyway, it was chilly day on campus so I went with layers. And six inch peep toe wedges. When I walked into my classroom this morning my darling friend Anna and I laughed because we both wore sweet leopard shoes and military jackets. Great minds think alike! My outfit: American Apparel circle scarf, Style & Co. Military jacket, boyfriend's flannel, Forever21 Audrey Hepburn t-shirt, Forever21 skinny jeans, Forever21 peep toe leopard wedges.

Today's Work

So today at Boces I worked on Brooke's outfit, which consists of a cropped fur jacket, chiffon blouse and skinny, high waisted pants. Finished the pants in muslin and put them on Twiggy, our pants form ;) Obviously they're not skinny at the moment, I have to fit them on Brooke, first. Then my teacher dug out an old, old, OLD pattern for a blouse. While I waited for the pattern I drafted a quick pattern for the bodice of the fur jacket. That's what I did today!
