Bigcitydreams.

Good morning, lovers!
My dad and I drove down to the city last Friday and stayed the night at my uncle's apartment in Queens (You should know that I absososososolutely love the city). As some of you know and most of you may not, I had to finish up my fabric shopping for my senior collection. My main priority was to get my fabric for my prom dress then move onto the smaller things. My first stop was at Spandex World for the body suit under my prom dress, had to find THE perfect color. Second stop was Pacific Trimmings for the invisible oxblood zipper as well an exposed zipper for a completely different garment. Third stop is probably without a doubt my favorite. Rosen & Chadick is the single best fabric store I have ever been to. Mr. David Chadick is such an amazing man and I will do business with him until the end of time. He truly treats you like you are the worlds most renowned designer of the moment. The prices are fantastic for the quality of fabric. I originally went in for 2 1/2 yards of crushed velvet and he gave me 3 yards of Italian cotton velvet for the same price. LOVE THIS MAN!! The biggest purchase of the day however, had to be all the chiffon for my dress! Also purchased at Rosen & Chadick, I told him what I needed, he showed me the silk chiffon I'd be ordering then we matched the lining and zipper to a swatch! Unfortunately, the oxblood chiffon I needed was in his warehouse which is closed on Saturdays *sad face* So! He had me fill out my address and phone number so it could be delivered to my house, five hours away, FREE OF CHARGE. DO YOU HEAR ME PEOPLE?!? Okay do you read me...?!? He gave me great discounts and guaranteed it'd be here by Tuesday! I also asked about faux fur which they didn't carry much of so he referred me to a gorgeous fabric shop down the street! Elegant fabrics is a fantastic place for faux furs.. I almost shed a tear or two. Before I knew it, I turned to see Carlos, Mr. Chadick's right hand man, in Elegant fabrics with my notebook housing all my fabric info and yardage! I couldn't be more happy with my service! Back to the faux fur, unfortunately, I only had enough budget left for one piece of fabric so I chose to buy leatherette for shorts, collar and cuffs. I left Elegant with Mood as my last stop. I found a great faux leather very close to my oxblood colors, for $14/yd! As I was leaving I saw little Swatch the dog happily sleeping under the zippers, how presh! After the fabric shopping my dad and I met my uncle in Penn Station where we took the subway to the Flatiron District. He showed us this adorable vintagey store called Fishes Eddy. I finally found my perfect cup and saucer there!! Afterward, we went to Republic for lunch. Tried some new foods in honor of my other uncle who is very, very much a foodie! Then we stopped at a thrift shop and then made our way back to the apartment. Back in Queens, we took naps then had our traditional Taco Night! The long day ended with game night with the neighbors then finally, thankfully, sleep. I just want to say real quick, I love falling asleep to the sounds of the city. It's more calming than anything in the world to me. I hope you all enjoyed this long long long post about my weekend, I'd love some feedback my babes!

No sweater? No problem!

Hello, lovers! So you all know I love the oversized look, especially on myself. Mainly because its trendy but still lets me relax and be warm (especially after pulling an all-nighter for a scholarship). You probably haven't realized this, but the majority of the sweaters I wear aren't mine! One is my Mom's sweater from the 80's, another is my older brother's sweater and the one I'm wearing today is my Dad's! I also love to wear oversized flannels or button downs. The first black and white flannel was one I borrowed/stole from a guy friend. Then I just bought one from the guy's section at Aero! I also have a sweater from the thrift shop that is super warm. Just because there's a new trend doesn't mean you have to run out and drop $30, $40 or even $50! Just go through your family's closets! (With permission, of course!) I'm off to work now, darlings, I'll blog ya later!

Outfit details: American Apparel circle scarf, Dad's sweater, Under Armour leggings, Target boots!

OOTD

Hello people of many countries. I am feeling rather blah today as you might expect seeing as how the weather is just as grey and boring as my social life. I can already tell this is going to be a boring/depressing post. I apologize guys. I felt super lazy and tired so I threw on my trusty French Bulldog pullover that says "Bonjour!" On the bottom. I'm not doing too hot in ACE French so I figured I'd wear that for encouragement or whatever. Ugh I'm typing this on the smelly damp bus with a freaking kid on drugs behind me with his stupid knees in the back of my seat screaming about how much he loves me and my fashion and his boyfriend then there's a freshman girl talking about what to do when your dog is choking, I just got a stomach turning whiff of dollar store "perfume" and oh my Jesus I just hate this. That was the worst run on sentence in history. I think I'm going to vomit. The worst part of all of this? I GOT MY LICENSE YESTERDAY. So why am I riding the bus you ask? Because I don't beg my parents for a car. Well okay I might have but understand I won't get it. Oh yes, back to my REALLY SOMEONE SPRAYED THE PERFUME AGAIN. I HATE THE WORLD. Nevermind, I'm on the transfer bus the perfume's gone but too bad this bus smells like butt. Well okay I promise, to my outfit! Peacoat and sweatshirt, Forever21; scarf, American Eagle; jeans, Hollister; boots, Mossimo. Topped off with a dollar store bandana!

Stay warm and drive safe this weekend lovelies!

I'm back!

HELLO MY BABIES! I know I've been missing for over week and I am back! You don't have to cry yourself to sleep anymore wondering where I am. I've just been wearing very slouchy low-effort outfits that you've all probably seen before that's why I haven't posted! However I am finally starting to dress like my usual self! So most of you darlings know I live in upstate New York which right is snow, slush, ice and puddles. So I can't wear my typical outfits because it is freezing! I just threw on my adorable new houndstooth rain boots to get me to school then I changed to my precious six inch babies. I HAVEN'T WORN THEM IN SO LONG OMG. I went for a preppy look today, love it. My trusty Forever21 sweater over a chambray blouse from Charlotte Russe with Forever21 denim, Forever21 wedges! And my rain boots are from Target!
